At the bottom of the medieval village of Saint-Emilion, between Château Ausone and Château Pavie-Macquin, the well-named Fontfleurie parcel joined the fold of Vignobles Jade in 2018. Made from vines grown organically for over fifteen years and biodynamically since our acquisition, 2019 is the very first Fontfleurie vintage. Purple color, a greedy nose of red and black fruits with floral touches, Fontfleurie is, with its notes of raspberry and cherry, balanced in the mouth, fruity and fresh. Its aging in amphorae and barrels gives it a pulpy suppleness with melted and soft tannins and renews the way of tasting a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru. Ideal as an aperitif or at lunchtime with pinchos, mangalica ham, and beautiful olives from our olive groves in Catalonia. Unconventional, almost iconoclastic, Fontfleurie recently seduced the jury of the largest international competition of organic wines. It was awarded the Silver Medal out of 1696 wines tasted from 12 countries.
