CHÂTEAU LA LOUBIÈRE
BORDEAUX SUPÉRIEUR
ChateauLaLoubiere_VignoblesJade_Bordeaux

A few miles from Bordeaux, on the northern slopes of the Entre-Deux-Mers, our family has been cultivating the vines of Château La Loubière since 1837. The wine’s name comes from the occitan dialect for “territory of the wolves”. It’s the family wine we grew up with, generation after generation: a typical Bordeaux red wine, powerful and engaging. After taking over the running of the vineyard from our parents and grandparents in 2015, we wanted to give it more depth and finesse. We have gradually expanded the vineyard and started the work of selection. This draws on our detailed knowledge of our largely clay and sand terroir.

CHÂTEAU LA LOUBIÈRE RED
POWERFUL, HARMONIOUS, EASY DRINKING

We pay special attention to the aging process.  We are constantly adapting our choices to the noticeable increase in grape quality since our conversion to organic and biodynamic agriculture. Château La Loubière is a harmonious and generous wine. It can be drunk young or after a few years cellaring.

CHÂTEAU LA LOUBIÈRE WHITE
SUBTLE, AROMATIC, LONG FINISH

Subtle, aromatic, dazzling… 2020 saw the first vintage of our La Loubière white wine. It’s a Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris blend. It’s produced with the same care and attention as the great wines of Burgundy or the Loire. Each plot was individually monitored and knowledge of their unique features was gathered.  With bunch-by- bunch grape crushing and an uncompromising approach to tasting guiding us, we created a wine that already impresses with its tension, finesse, aromatic subtlety and long finish.

CHÂTEAU LA LOUBIÈRE ROUGE SANS SULFITE
AROMATIC, COMPLEX, ELEGANT

With a homogeneous maturity, the Merlot harvest was put in tanks in whole bunches. The indigenous yeasts present on the berries quickly started the fermentation and seven months of aging in amphora allowed the fruit to express its full potential. Technically, it is a delicate vinification and a very careful maturation: the wine must be worked in the absence of oxygen because it is not protected by sulfites and can therefore alter very easily. After analysis, it is a wine totally free of sulfites, including residuals from fermentation. The result? A fresh wine, with an intense bouquet of fresh pepper on a dominant of red fruits: currant, blueberry, blackcurrant. A structured and elegant wine, complex with velvety tannins, a good balance and a nice acidity. And in limited production of 999 numbered bottles.
