THE TEAM
Caroline Teycheney, Jean-François Berrouet, Nicolas Géré, Patrick Teycheney and Jean-Claude Berrouet.
THE TERROIR IS NOTHING WITHOUT MAN
Patrick and Caroline Teycheney have converted all their estates to organic and biodynamic practices. They are convinced this is the future of grape growing. Getting the terroir to talk while respecting the environment is a principled decision, a demanding commitment and a challenge for the future. They have an exceptional technical team around them whose ambition is to produce a great wine.
JEAN-CLAUDE & JEAN-FRANÇOIS BERROUET
Oenologist and Consultant
Jean-Claude Berrouet and son Jean-François are unquestionably the Merlot specialists. They have a longstanding experience producing top quality Bordeaux and international wines. They are able to illustrate and reinvent them just as an artist interprets his major works. “Behind the raw material, the grapes, lies the winemaker. Like a conductor with a musical score that he interprets in the most sensual manner. There is no secret or recipe. We make a different wine every year adapting to what nature gives us”, comments Jean-Claude Berrouet. He was named “Winemaker of the Year” in 2018 by the prestigious Masters of Wine Institute.
NICOLAS GÉRÉ
Vineyard Manager
Nicolas learned the ropes in the vineyards of Hermitage where he was a pupil of Jean-Louis Chave. He is a disciple of both of Dominique Massenot (Amisol), biodynamic and agricultural consultant and teacher and Margarethe Chappelle (Œnocristal), expert in sensitive crystallization. He is also a visionary and a technician, who squares the principles he learnt from his masters with the daily reality of grape growing and the making of a great wine. “Biodynamic wines are a reflection of grape-growing that respects the soil, the vine and the consumer. This practice brings great purity, complexity and finesse. They are the expression of our terroir.”
